Jenna’s room is now clean and rearranged. I do not know how a little girl can make such a mess in one week. I was talking to my mom yesterday and told her I do not remember being messy as a child. She told me that out of the four girls, I was the cleanest. That is what I thought. So, I guess I will blame this on her father. She did get 50% of each of us.
Since my favorite thing to do is play on the computer, I am using Pinterest to give me some decorating ideas.
Jenna loves the color pink, so it is staying in the room. She is a very creative, and spirited girl, so her room will be about fun.
I bought these curtains from Ikea last year, and I think that this will be the color palette for the room. It is hard to tell from this picture, but there are some great colors. The curtains work great against the window and the paint color of the walls. Some other color options are:

I like how both of these style boards pull in all the colors from my curtains, and at the same time, give me some ideas to decorate.
First, I am going to start with the wall behind the bed. I am thinking of using two solid color curtain panels and have them open like they are flanking a window. In the center, Jenna wants a chalkboard in a pretty frame. Here is an idea below.

I think it would break up the wall and provide a nice pop of color.
Next, is the desk area. Jenna’s computer takes up the majority of the desk, so I need to find some simple storage options for above and below the desk. I have a shelf I do not use, and then I thought I would do something like this:
I love the bar with the bins for things like pens and pencils. I think I saw something like this at Ikea. Yeah for me, I get to take a trip to Ikea.
I still have bedding, and a completely blank wall opposite the window. What to do, what to do? Guess I will get back on Pinterest, and get the creative juices flowing. Jenna and I are having so much fun.
Did you recently redecorate your kids room? Have any tips or ideas for me? They would be much appreciated.
